Pupa

I made this piece of video art for the ButohOut show that I was going to be in but a bunch of us caught Covid and the show had to be cancelled so I thought I’d share this here, I would love to have your eyes upon it, it is probably my last artistic offering for the year. The music is just royalty free stuff from the internet so it’s not super fitting but this was a fun experiment in making video art and I’m really in love with the visuals I created here, I wanted to find a way to take my body into something beyond human and I feel like I succeeded. As doing the Fringe Festival has left me pretty penniless and burned out, I’ve been feeling quite heavy and depressed about being an artist in this capitalist hellscape but honestly, art connects me to a sense of purpose, a reason for existing. I don’t know what else to do and I don’t want to do anything else.
