Acrylic on canvas.

This painting started with a scene because we are experimenting with combining our Dom/sub dynamic with my art practice. He ordered me into the studio and he controlled the music. My job was to respond to the energy he gave me and so I started to paint. I told him that I was going to make the colours fuck. I told him that I was going to use pretty colours and how some male teachers had discouraged us from art that was decorative and feminine so for this art school survivor, leaning into what I loved felt like a radical and subversive act. Occasionally while I painted and talked, he’d grab me and grope me and tell me how good I looked and I would laugh in embarrassment, pleasure and annoyance at the interruption. I finished this painting a day or two later by myself and it became so pretty that I was at first worried that I had wrecked it until I realised how goddamn pleasurable this painting is, like a long, loud, rolling series of multiple orgasms, like a chromophobe’s worst nightmare.

Please note: This painting contains some florescent pigments. Though I use the highest quality florescent paints which are coated with a top of the range UV protective varnish, this artwork should not be exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time as there is a risk of colour fading. In fact, this rule should be applied to all paintings.
