Seeing the light of day.

I'm taking a sick day today in an attempt to properly recover from a bug that's been lingering for a couple of weeks. Seems like an opportune time to put up some paintings that have been lying around the house for yonks for no real reason.

Click on the thumbnails for larger versions. I think it's worth it.

Early 2008. Acrylic, glitter and shellac on canvas. 51x76cm approx.  Lot of flaws in this one but some interesting things happening with colour, texture and layers. Sad that the transparent layers and glitter photograph so badly.

Early 2009. Acrylic and oil on canvas. 61x92 approx. This is actually one of my favourite paintings to date.  I wish I could show it to you all in real life... there's something about the lusciousness of paint strokes that really appeals to me. I need to do more like this, don't you think?

Ok, time for more sleep.

Get well, darling. I'm staying at home sick as well. I like both of these paintings, you caught me in the corridor staring at number two recently. It felt rather awkward as if I was doing something inappopriate:) But I actually really like the first one, that long elegant neck and a beautiful strange face, I want a forest of these creatures:)

I love the colours and form of the top one and the bottom one is good too.

Lola, can you blame me for thinking you were doing something inappropriate? I mean, it's YOU! And you were lingering in a dark hallway, staring at boobs after all! Feel better soon lovely, maybe we have the same thing from spending so much time together?

Jake, thanks!

Why are you so very talented and oh so very cool and why don't we discuss how very talented and oh so very cool you are everyday?

Eff, imagine if we did, surely J would die from counter self-deprecation efforts!
I think the second painting is amazing and yes you should do more like this. You are super most excellent with colours and breasts!

I have lived with these paintings for awhile now, they make good flat mates. They are never boring and they never complain! Nice!
