Too much inspiration?

Post exhibition, I really want to keep the momentum going as I am feeling inspired and confident. The only problem is, there are so many things I want to do.  I've written a list in an attempt to figure things out and am now posting it here just in case the interwebs can help me come up with some answers!

Here are the things I will do:

- A semi-private project that I may or may not end up discussing here, depending on my confidence and comfort about it. This project is both exciting and a little nerve wracking for me so we shall see.

- Set up an etsy shop to start selling small works.

- Set up a facebook fanpage for publicity purposes, a flickr account and look into other ways of publicising myself.

Here are things I want to do.

- A blog with a feminism, sexuality, pornography sort of slant because I really want a space to talk about those things but don't quite feel comfortable doing it on this website dedicated primarily to my art. I actually signed up for a wordpress account specifically for this purpose about a year ago but back away from the idea for some reason.

-  A short film taking the style in my short, experimental little films (Tammy's Tea Party, Bunny Dance and Voodoo You Do) and going a lot further with it, making it more story and entertainment based, more fucked up, more colourful, more everything.

- Illustrate a wonderful story my partner, Wes, wrote about a year ago specifically for me to illustrate.

- Start making the comics I've always wanted to make.

- Perhaps start applying for artist's grants, residencies, etc.

I'm very much afraid of spreading myself too thin, however, so I need to figure out what I want to do most and prioritise. The problem is, what I want to do most changes almost daily.

On the film idea Id say yes yes yes yes yes !!!!

Where is fluffy land, I'm there :) and my diagnosis of Tammy is she's a little bit crazy :) Good performance! it's a good film, I'm gonna get my doorbell changed so when you press the button you hear "there's someone at the door, there's someone at the door, who could it be, a new friend for me" ha ha, I like bunny dance too.

In your films you can explore all sorts of things you want to do, you can make a comic and film it, you can mix that with live action a bit like Tammy's tea party.
and with movies you have an instant audience all over the world on vimeo.

Tammy's tea party is too long for a very big audience, if you had other ideas and kept cutting back to short exerts from Tammy, that would work for a larger audience without compromising anything. Now I'm editing your work aren't I, and selecting your audience for you, sorry :) it's just a suggestion. I've never actually met you in person so I'm looking at you and your work very much from the point of view that your future audience has, and there's something about your films that includes all your talents (that I know about anyway :) and is really good.

The one-offs (film & illustrations) seem like you could do them anyway because once they're done, that's it. The blog I recommend for creativity, and my own selfish curiosity.;-) Don't know what you want to do with the comics; that can take a lot of time & effort. Grants-usually for a specific project, applying can be a real pain (that i know of); residencies--sounds(???) like you have to go live somewhere--could be a major shake-up. Research would be in order. One other thing-- Follow your own vision!! Don't try to please people. Subterranean eyes are cool! Your ideas will always be better than someone else's impositions. Keep on rockin'!

Jake, all great suggestions! And don't worry, I've been told many a time that Tammy's Tea Party is too long which is fair enough. It was my first ever film made in a rush at University so I think of it was a project I simply learned from! You're right about film allowing me to mix up a lot of the things I love... hmmm!

PCobb, thanks a lot! Do you have experience applying for grants? Can I ask what for? There's MY curiosity coming through!
